Fire Fighters

Description

Fire fighters rely heavily on safe air. In the middle of fighting a blaze is not the time to find out the air inside the cylinder can kill you. Or get you killed indirectly.

In 1970 Congress passed 30CFR, PartII, SubpartJ, 11.121(b) which states, "Compressed gaseous breathing air shall meet the applicable minimum grade requirements for Type I gaseous air set forth in the Compressed Gas Association (CGA) 'Commodity Specification for Air G-7.1', (Grade D or higher quality)", making periodic testing of compressed breathing air a law.

CGA G-7.1 Grade D, and Grade L to add in a moisture requirement, was the original standard for the fire fighting industry. This is gradually being superceded by the voluntary, slightly more restrictive National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standard titled NFPA 1989: 'Standard On Breathing Air Quality For Fire And Emergency Services Respiratory Protection'.

Rocket Air Labs is able to test your station's breathing air for compliance with either standard and is proud to be a part of helping to keep our brave fire fighters safe. We recommend using our Rocket-Air test kit: the fastest, simplest, most-accurate, and least-expensive. Draw your own sample, without the need for owning an over-complicated test apparatus, or requiring a service call.
